Christians & Trump

Christian/Pastor – Let’s flip this disagreement on its head. God is the ONLY entity who has never sinned. Yet you agree with the press and their opinion of President Trump. According to one of the big “Think Tanks” in Washington, DC, they state that the news coverage wants us to believe that President Trump’s behavior is wrong approximately 95% of the time. Umm…then you must believe President Trump’s conduct is only right, worthy, decent, blameless, virtuous – pick your adjective, 5% of the time. “Oh, no,” you might say. “Trump’s wrong, uh, maybe 80% of the time and right 20% of the time.” And, in your infinite judgment, that’s not acceptable to be POTUS. Or instead of 80% perhaps it’s 70%, or 55%, or 48.5%? What is acceptable to you? What % does GOD expect from YOU, Christian /Pastor? I suspect your answer might be: “But, I’m not POTUS.” If this last election cycle has taught us anything, it’s that EVERYONE has skeletons in their closet – especially when your adversary has unlimited money to hire attorneys and investigative agents to examine every atom in your body. Remember: We DIDN’T hire President Trump to preach. We DID, however, elect him to straighten out some of the messes the Liberals have gotten this country into. Yes, Moses gave us the Ten Commandments to live by. But what did Jesus think of the Ten Commandments? He understood how difficult, even impossible they are for us to keep. That’s why He came. Jesus did not do away with the moral law at the cross, but His sacrifice for mankind revealed the grace and forgiveness available to us. And that includes anything you, or I or President Donald J. Trump has done. If we could all live by and keep the Ten Commandments on our own, we would know heaven on earth. But because we are unable to, we live in a sinful world. That’s why we need a Savior, and His name is Jesus. What does Jesus say about the Ten Commandments? He asks us to look at the Cross of Calvary where He died and prayerfully ask Him to forgive and set us free. For all has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)
